Rats Seen in Loft Using Video
Sometimes when people hear noises and something moving in their loft, they use their own cameras to see what’s causing it before calling in professional pest control. A client in Chipping Campden did exactly this and after 24 hours had this video footage of rats in their attic:
The Solution: Rat Extermination and Prevention
Initially they tried to get rid of the rats themselves using off the shelf products, however after 3 weeks they were still seeing live rats on their camera so felt it was time to get professional pest control services in to exterminate the rats.
We did a thorough survey of the property, and it was clear that the rats were also living under the decking outside. Our technician was able to capture them on video to show our client:
We were able to effectively get rid of the rats within 7 days. However, rather than leave it there it is always worth us investigating further to establish how the rats got into the house in the first place. Prevention being better than cure!
It was obvious that the rats’ had chewed a hole in an air vent and clearly they were using this entry point to get into the wall cavity. They would then climb up the walls and into the loft, going undetected for some time. We were able to fit mesh covers to all the air vents, which we are happy to say has so far kept our client’s Chipping Campden property free from further rat infestations.
