Possible Bedbug Bites
Sometimes if you are getting bitten by insects but do not know what the insects are, it can be confusing, and you may be unsure what to do about it. A family in Solihull contacted us as the parents and one of the children were getting bitten regularly by insects. The other child in the house had no visible bites. As they had not seen any insects in their bedrooms or around the house, the parents did not know what the cause may be or what to do about it.
The Solution: Effective Bedbug Extermination
We were able to ask some questions over the phone to establish that it was most likely to be bedbugs. Initially it’s useful to establish if there is a possible source, and the family had been away a few weeks beforehand and stayed in a hotel so there was an obvious source of a bedbug infestation. One of the parents had also seen some small blood spots on their bed sheets in the morning, which is another indication that they were being bitten by bedbugs.
As with all bedbug pest control treatments we asked the family to vacuum all floors thoroughly before the bedbug treatment and empty the hoover bag. They also had to wash all bedding and any infested clothing at 60 degrees. Items that were too delicate to hot wash were bagged, sealed and frozen for 48 hours, and left sealed until after the bedbug pest control program was completed.
We also requested that they did not move items from room to room unless wrapped and sealed to prevent the bedbugs spreading around the house. No one or pets could be in the house during the control process, or for 6 hours after, so we arranged an early morning appointment straight after the school run which allowed the family to return to their house later in the afternoon.
Our bedbug control is always extremely thorough and it took at least two members of our team just over 4 hours to complete. Our technician took these pictures during the process, and you can see bedbugs were hiding in between the slats of the bed:
There were also bedbug eggs with adult bedbugs hiding in holes within the bed frame:
These images show how important attention to detail is when we are undertaking bedbug pest control services – we literally took our client’s beds apart to ensure that the bedbugs were exterminated completely.
After the bedbug control process was finished, we also requested our client did not vacuum for 21 days, as we left dry residual bedbug insecticide in place. If any bedbug eggs were to survive the bedbug removal process and hatch, the emerging bedbugs would touch the residual insecticide and die off.
This extra bedbug control measure gave our client another layer of protection against the bedbugs re-infesting their home, which we are pleased to report they did not. Our bedbug pest control service and extermination worked after just one treatment, which is what we always endeavour to achieve, and all the bedbugs were successfully removed from their home.
