Bee Removal

Bee Swarm Removal

Only honeybees swarm, so when you see a swarm of bees it is always honeybees. Wasps never swarm. Bees may move on of their own accord so it can be best to leave well alone for 24 hours. However, we can collect a swarm of bees for you if you are concerned, and we will rehome them.

Removing Bees from a Chimney

On rare occasions, a bee’s nest can be a health or safety concern, such as bees nesting in brickwork close to where children play. Wherever possible we will remove the live bee’s nest and rehome the bees. This may include removing and replacing brickwork. If bees are nesting in a chimney and the work involves working at height, scaffold may be required.

Bee Pest Control

As a last resort in situations where bees are a health risk, and it is not possible to remove the live nest, bees can be treated with insecticide. This requires a two-visit bee control program, as the nest site has to be bee-proofed on completion of the work to prevent more bees nesting in the same site. The nest site can only be proofed after the bees have gone.

Bumble Bees and Mortar Bees

We will collect bumble bee nests and rehome them where possible, we never treat bumble bees with insecticide, and they will leave the nest site at the end of the breeding season.

Treating bumble bees with insecticide is usually ineffective, so please be aware of this.

Mortar bees are solitary bees and non-aggressive so our advice is to leave them alone.
