Carpet beetles look similar to bed bugs; small, flat and brown in colour. They get into your house through any gap they can find and lay their eggs on or close to their food source, preferring natural fibres such as wool, silk or fur.
Signs of Carpet Beetles
- Carpet beetles are small and difficult to see but you will notice bald patches forming on your rugs and carpets.
- Carpet beetles will also eat fabrics and soft furnishings.
- If you think you have carpet beetles, we can usually confirm identity by sight, but laboratory identification is available before treatment if necessary.
